One of the biggest treasures here in Niagara is the environment. Beautiful vineyards, awe-inspiring wildlife and thunderous waterfalls all combine to showcase the beauty of this region. For these reasons, it’s important that we understand the need for environmental preservation, especially on Earth Day this Saturday, April 20th.
The Marriott Gateway on the Falls understands this and has numerous green initiatives to help the sustainability of the environment.
- Participated in Earth Hour, ensuring nonessential lights were turned off for 1 hour, while also raising awareness for the need to take action on climate change.
- Ensuring appliances are energy efficient and water consuming devices are retro-fitted.
- Established an Environmental Management Committee to implement policies, procedures and strategies towards a greener environment.
These initiatives represent a commitment to environmental sustainability and an understanding of the natural beauty that surrounds the hotel.
This year on Earth Day, come down to Niagara Falls and witness that natural beauty firsthand. Niagara Parks will hosting it’s forth annual Niagara Glen Earth Day hikes, which offered guided tours of the region. So if you want to celebrate the environment on Earth Day, come to one of most beautiful regions in the country and experience nature.
Wine and Craft beer may be taking centre stage at this year’s expo, but that doesn’t mean food wont have a staring role.
This year, just like the last, the Niagara Food and Wine Exp will boast culinary offerings from some of the best chefs in the Niagara region. With the region being a wine hotspot, chefs have been consistently attracted to the area.
AG Inspired cuisine will be offering Oatmeal Stout Pulled Pork and for the more exotic taste buds, Casbah Catering will be bringing Camel meat sliders. Red Canoe Bistro will offering modern spins on Canadian cuisine, while Barbeque enthusiasts can enjoy the meat selection from PigOut Catering.
The event is gearing up to be another wonderful experience of everything great about this wonderful region– wine, craft beer and excellent food.
Niagara Food and Wine Expo runs from April 26 till April 28 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre.
It seems like the spring temperatures just don’t want to make their annual climb into the double digits this week. This unfortunately reality, coupled with a rather rainy few days, probably has most of us cooped up inside. That’s why you should come and check out one of North America’s largest indoor water parks! Boasting 16 water slides, a massive indoor wave pool and hot springs, the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark gives everyone in the family something to enjoy.
At The Marriott, we understand the greatness of this attraction so we put together an affordable package that includes tickets to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark. The package includes accommodations, Fallsview buffet for two, a $25 dollar voucher for dinner at Milestones Bar + Grill and 2 all-day passes to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark.
